Intro to Set Design
Another way to think of Set Design is by thinking of the props and décor in a particular film. Set design is the creation of the physical area in which the acting for a film takes place. It composes the scenery and overall look of the stage or set of a film. The set allows us to know where and when the story of the film takes place. This, in turn, conveys meaning to viewers.
Personally, I never took into consideration of this element in film. Thanks to this lesson and assignment, I learned a lot on how the set design plays a big role in a film- just as every other element within Mise en Scene.
