Preliminary Exercise - My Camerawork: Camera Angles

Welcome back to the second part of the series "Camerawork". In this section of the project, me and my partner worked on Camera Angles. Here's the 2/4 part of "Camerawork":

In this section, I actually really liked the Ground-Level shot. Before deciding on this picture, me and my partner tried a few different ground level shots which made me notice something. I noticed that no matter what position you put the camera in when it's on ground level, there's some kind of mystery too it. Which what we included in the shot above. The fact the you don't see the subject's face- or entirely, I should say, allows the audience to build an idea of their own.  The purpose of a ground level shot is to allow the audience to build an idea of their own, and I believe me and my partner met that goal with this shot.

A second example from this section is the Overhead Shot. For this, I went upstairs to the auditorium while my partner stayed downstairs. I would say my favorite thing about this shot is how establishing it is. As stated in the slide, its whole purpose is to bring attention to the subject. In this case, the subject is the student standing. The goal was to give the picture a mysterious energy with my partner looking straight ahead without the audience seeing what's going on.
