Preliminary Exercise 3A: Intro to Mise en Scene - Codes Organizer

For this assignment, me and my classmates were assigned to watch a particular video. This video was meant to introduce us to Mise en Scene. Mise en Scene is defined as the stage design and arrangement of actors on set as well as its surroundings. The reason this is considered importance in film is because of how it helps build mood and atmosphere for the audience. The elements contain setting, acting, costume, hair & makeup, lighting, color, set design, and composition. Regarding the video, however, there were 3 things I took away from it: the information, the specifics of the setting, and how important Mise en Scene is to film. These are things that I hadn't taken into consideration before so it was nice to inform myself further on these topics.
