Into to Setting

 Setting in film has already been discussed on this blog. However, just to reiterate, it is basically the time and place of a film. This is a crucial element in Mise en Scene. For one of the tasks we were assigned, we were asked to analyze the setting of our chosen movie. With our movie being the Sci-Fi Thriller: Extinction, our analysis included very fictional places. As for the element itself, setting is important to film because it helps us better understand the environment of the character and the film itself. Thanks to setting we can also learn to establish the theme of the film.
