Welcome to My AICE Media Studies Blog!
Hello! I am Dianeliz (Nelli, for short) and welcome to my first blog post for my media studies class. First and foremost, I would like to mention how excited I am to be embarking on this journey of learning about all there is to know about media. To me, the importance of studying Media Studies lies in the fact that media is all around us. As time goes on, media is continuously evolving and we are relying on it way more than ever. Personally, my favorite media product would be the Internet. I think I speak for majority of my age group when I say this, as well. The reason being that the Internet contains all things going on worldwide. All the entertainment and things to know about the world is on there.
The type of media product I plan to be documenting on my blog is a drama. Specifically, all the things that go on in a teens personal life and all the highs and lows of living as one. My target audience is ideally for teens just because I feel like I have more knowledge on that of life of a teenager. I feel like the purpose of me doing it this way is that i’ll be able to have people relate to it a lot more than another topic since I’m a apart of it myself. I feel like I just need a little more knowledge and insight on the life of a teen from other perspectives to learn to create my film. This would allow me to be more successful and accurate in my film. As for the release date of my film, I don't know the exact date just yet, but I definitely plan on it being released sometime in January.
Now, of course I can’t just rely on my teenage experiences to do this blog. I plan on widening my knowledge on the things I could potentially learn in order to be successful in completing this Component. One of the strategies I think I will need to use in creating this blog is talking to my peers. Since we are all relatively in the same age group, I think I’ll gain a good amount of insight to help me blog this drama. Secondly, I think researching would be a crucial strategy to help me in this blog. Mainly because this is Media Studies, after all. On top of that, though, researching topics similar to what I will be filming is yet another way to gain more knowledge on my topic. Another technique I think I can use is gaining all the help I can get. When people give their opinions and things are worked out in a collaborative manner, I believe the outcome is so much better. I say this because I believe the more opinions I get, the better. It’ll let me know where I’m going right or wrong and allows me to just learn. And hey, that’s the whole point of this. To learn about Media Studies. Lastly, I think the best strategy I can use in documenting my journey is to keep an open mind. I am learning after all. I think keeping an open mind in anything new you do is a great strategy just because things can be unpredictable. And as said before, the whole point is to learn! Which is what I can’t wait for. So… may the learning begin.
